Fallas Events by Valencia Flats holiday apartments
Fallas is the most international Festival in Valencia City. This Fireworks Festival starts at the end of February and lasts till 19th March but the most important days are from 15th March until 19th March 2012. Without any doubt, this is the most spectacular, complete fiesta on earth.
Fallas pay tribute to St. Joseph, patron saint of the carpenters’ guild, where – it is said – the tradition arose from. The basis of Valencian Fallas Festival is the “Fallas” monuments. In a display of art Fallas are exhibited in the streets during Fallas week, between the 15th and 19th of March. On the last day, at midnight, they are set on fire and burn in immense, spectacularly beautiful pyres.
During Fallas days – and even weeks beforehand – the streets are alive with fireworks displays, music bands, artistic lighting, street performances, parades, paella contest…
