The II Master Golden Series RS X Valencia 2009 is part of the project for Valencia to host sailing events at the 2016 Olympics if Madrid's bid to host the Games is successful. On this occasion, the race includes both male and female categories and will feature Spain's top windsurfers: Iván Pastor, from the Santa Pola Sailing Club, and Marina Alabau and Blanca Manchón, both originally from Seville, who have just been proclaimed European Champions in the RS:X class.
